Why Howden M&A?
Put simply, because we are different. Genuinely different.
In the space of a few years we disrupted the M&A insurance market, drove positive change to the way the product suite is transacted and became a leading broker in the space.
We achieved this because we believe that insurance broking should be an advisory business. We established a team of experts who advise our clients on how to structure their approach to securing insurance, which in turn delivers better cover positions and allows for smoother processes.
What we do
We understand the underlying issues and use this knowledge to structure policies that fit the transaction and negotiate wordings that provide the widest scope of cover.
By taking ownership of the placement, we reduce deal teams workload - allowing them to focus on the deal, safe in the knowledge we will cover the risks.
We provide a full post-completion claims advisory service - our experienced team has a track record of securing M&A insurance claims pay-outs for our clients.
We carry out a forensic analysis of the transaction documents and due diligence reports, working with our clients and their advisers to identify the key risks on any given transaction. By identifying and understanding these risks, we generate competitive tension at the insurer selection stage, allowing us to secure broader cover and ensure a smoother insurance process. We engage sector specialists to review due diligence reports and advise our clients on known risks that may fall outside the scope of cover of a typical W&I policy. We then advise them on how to structure specific policies to cover those issues. We create innovative solutions to novel problems that arise on deals, and have a track record of successfully implementing such solutions on accelerated time frames.
Our role does not stop at policy inception. Our service includes a full claims handling service for the full policy term. We have a proven track record of resolving large M&A insurance claims for our clients. We have an integrated approach to claims, combining our specialist knowledge of legal, tax and financial matters with our dedicated M&A claims team, led by Anna Robinson, an insurance litigator with more than 10 years of litigation experience.
Free from outside control, Howden provides a viable, independent alternative to the world’s largest global brokers. Our commitment to employee ownership helps attract the most talented people to support our clients.
Across all of our divisions, we employ specialist sector teams who understand the specific risk issues that clients face. This ensures we find the right solutions for our clients.
We recognise that one size doesn’t fit all. We provide bespoke insurance solutions for a broad range of clients across multiple sectors.
